Debt Consolidation - Who is the best?

For so many, one of the things that keep them from breaking out into their own business venture and becoming a work at home mom or work at home dad is the bills they currently pay and the feeling of being suffocated by them with each payment mailed out.

I'd be interested in hearing from people who have used debt consolidation and what companies work best for them or even those who have been found to be less than honest. As with most anything, I am sure those do exist as well.

I've heard a great deal about Lowermybills -- they seem to be big advertisers and carry a promising word, but are they all they are cracked up to be?
