Work at Home Disadvantages
We're always talking about the benefits of working at home, what are some of the biggest disadvantages you can think of?
I'll list 5 that come to mind right away --
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Obesity
- Deep Vein Thrombosis from sitting too long
- Headaches from either staring at a computer to long or from lack of being outdoors
- Lack of a social life
Your turn!

Since I've been a work at home mom I get more exercise and in fact am 20 lbs lighter. When I worked in an office at a desk job it was behind a computer with only an hour lunch, so the eye strain was worse working outside the home.
At home, I'm on the computer one minute, scrubbing a floor the next. It's wonderful. I don't sit too long, I don't stand too long, don't do anything longer than I choose to do it. So much freedom to manage my time the way I see fit and in a way that is comfortable to my body and my family. :)
Wendy wrote exactly what I was thinking when I read your post.
WAHM is a lot more flexible than the corporate world. I can work a few hours, go work out, come back, work a few more hours and so on.
Haha I totally agree on obesity. I basically have no social life! But I have flexibility. I take paid surveys for extra money - the best survey site is pinecone research (use this pinecone research sign up link to join).
