Hot Bloggable Topics

A question was posed on a board I visit regularly wanting to know of topics that are often read and if she should go for a personal journal type blog or if she should seek to blog on a niche topic. I felt the response was worth enough to be presented here as well.

When you are looking for a topic to blog about there are several things I recommend -

1. Jot down all your hobbies, things you could talk about every single day - things you dream about having/doing/visiting - these are all bloggable topics.

2. Do a little research - search on google and on yahoo search to see just what's out there on those topics - you don't want to get into a topic that is overly saturated - or if you do, consider an additional blog on a topic that's not quite so saturated.

3. Always use careful consideration when choosing a name for your blog. The name of your blog is also a "keyword" and if chosen correctly it can do a great benefit to your blog.

Here's a handy tool by Overture that I use to find out how often certain keywords are searched - I also use it when planning my article writing for my blog.

If you're going to develop a personal blog, that's great! But I'd highly recommend having a niche topic blog going at the same time. With programs like Qumana - it's very easy to have multiple blogs that are easily maintained.
